Every new parent has lots to share with others. First of all, when you are pregnant, the changes your body goes through are unbelievable. Leaving aside all the troublesome moments of being pregnant, there is actually a lot to laugh about. Secondly, your perception of life changes after your baby makes her appearance into this world. I never thought that discussing how many times my baby did “number two” today would ever make it into legit conversation topics with my husband. Thirdly, there is something special about belonging to the people-with-children group. There are jokes, real stories and precious moments – there are definitely some “hidden perks”, which is why everyday more and more people give up their freedom and join people-with-children group voluntarily.
NOTE This is a short book of 5,859 words – ideal for fast read!

Find Out the Truth My Stories about Pregnancy and Being a Mom Ups and Downs of Married Life Book 3 edition by Jessica Roberts Humor Entertainment eBooks

I was provided with a copy of this book for review. It explores the author's experiences during pregnancy and being a first time mom through lively biographical sketches. Experiences like the ones presented in this book are valuable because they raise consciousness about subjects that affect us as parents, whether male or female and as such the audience for this book should appropriately be both female and male. No doubt, all first time pregnant women and moms as well as first time dads expecting a child would benefit from reading this as it could help with some of the physical and psychological challenges of becoming parents. The narrative is easily readable and entertaining with the author's fine sense of humour ever in place to put a smile on one's face. The varying experiences and adjustments that must be made both during pregnancy and after baby comes are legitimate and so there is easy identification with the stories. In sharing these experiences the author helps people in like situations to appreciate that what goes on is normal and so knowing this can help one to cope positively and in good humour with the changes that come. There are many truisms in this gem, such as where the writer says, "I came to a conclusion that anything that is not a toy, would fascinate a baby for at least five minutes." I laughed here for it is so true as we invest so much in toys and often educational toys only to find that baby or toddler finds a kitchen pot more interesting! The materials here provide a ready basis for personal inputs by other moms with similar experiences. The various practical issues and events that crop up are informative for first time parents--potty training, the baby on a plane experience, the living room becoming a playroon, baby's teething issues, joining the legion of people with kids and so on. Despite the challenges, the perks however are clear, although these might be hidden at times, the author happily concludes that her baby has changed her life, that "he has changed me and my perception of things, and all those changes have been for better." Maturity, becoming older and wiser are thus some of those perks.

This book provides information that pregnant women and new moms and dads will find invaluable and for those who have many years of parenting under the belt, it's a wonderful trip down memory lane. It is also easily a useful addition to materials on Women's Studies.
